OSM in Radomsko, a medium-sized Polish dairy company, recently signed a contract with Grundfos BioBooster. The solution is a pre-treatment plant intended for their dairy processing plant located in Novo Targ in southern Poland. The treatment plant will be delivered this autumn.
The dairy processing plant at Novo Targ is discharging its wastewater to the local municipal wastewater treatment plant. Due to the high organic load in the wastewater, the processing plant is constantly met with very high discharge costs and surcharges. With the BioBooster solution the biological content in the wastewater will be reduced - and Radomsko consequently expects lower wastewater discharge fees in the future. Later on, the treatment plant can be extended to a full-treatment solution. This in turn will enable the processing plant at Novo Targ to discharge the treated wastewater to receiving waters.
The Radomsko Novo-Targ plant produces yellow cheese and UHT milk with a daily milk intake of 400,000 litres.
The Dairy processing plant is located nearby Tatra Mountains in proximity to a natural border between Poland and Slovakia, approximately 20 km from Zakopane – the biggest tourist skiing resort in Poland.
