Official eyes point towards Grundfos BioBooster

Inauguration by Danish Environment Minister
On a cold January day Danish Environment Minister Troels Lund Poulsen officially unveiled the BioBooster MBR treatment plant at Bjerregrav, Viborg Municipality. The inauguration ceremony took place in a heated makeshift pavilion just few feet away from the newly established BioBooster wastewater treatment plant.

Grundfos BioBooster's Managing Director Bent Gadgaard had a clear massage; the way wastewater has been approached thus far has to be challenged. And the technology is in place to offer an alternative to centralisation on both Danish and foreign ground.

A decentralised wastewater paradigm
A decentralised approach eliminates further investment in piping works and pumping stations when wastewater is treated at the point source of pollution.

Viborg Municipality’s wastewater department head, Finn Kohler, announces that in several months post the initial trial the municipal wastewater infrastructure will be re-evaluated.

Specifically referring to 18 decentralised plants facing close down in favour of centralisation.

Opting for decentralised BioBooster plants within the municipality could save millions of Danish Crown in piping works otherwise needed to pump and transport the wastewater to the centralised wastewater treatment plant.
